FELIPE & JANELLE SILVA
Founders and Directors

This Brazilian/Canadian couple first came to Romania in 2012 as volunteers with the New Horizons Foundation. In 2015 they opened the doors to Fără Limite in Vulcan, using their passion for climbing to encourage and support local youth. Janelle and Felipe are the proud parents of three beautiful children: Luca, Sofia, and Mila.
DAMARIS BALAN
Education Program Manager

Damaris was born and raised in Lupeni in the Jiu Valley. She studied history at university, which awoke in her a curiosity and passion for political science and international relations. She enjoys watching documentary and biographical films, reading, and staying active—especially by hiking. She joined our staff in 2020.
JENNA GRIFFIN
Communications Manager
~
Originally from Indiana, Jenna began her work with Fără Limite as an intern in the summer of 2016. She returned the next summer, and in 2018 decided to move to Romania and begin her long-term work with the gym. Jenna is a writer and photographer, a lover of foreign languages, and a big fan of spending time in the mountains.
RALUCA CARDOS

Raluca is from the town of Petrila in the Jiu Valley. She studied psychology at university. Raluca began volunteering at the gym before joining our staff full time in 2021. Her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, and sewing, and she is passionate about the reconversion and reanimation of the Jiu Valley.
IONUȚ BOTA
Gym Manager

Born and raised in the Jiu Valley, Ionuț became the gym manager at Fără Limite in 2018. He is a dedicated Christian and an active member in his church in Lupeni. Ionuț studies mechanical and electrical engineering at the University of Petroșani. He loves working with children and has a passion for sports.
